Each couple has a unique story to tell of how they fell for each other. First date details, engagement stories and the first time you met are just some of the elements that we love to fold into the design of your wedding stationary. We combine unique materials with beautiful typography to share your unique personality with your guests all the while setting the tone for your day.
Erin and Nicole, both graphic designers, founded Bird and Banner in 2006 because as brides-to-be they were excited by the seemingly endless possibilities of expressing their personality and style in every detail.
The process starts with a consultation either in person for those who are close to the Philadelphia area or by phone. We love to hear all the great ideas you have planned -– the dress, the venue, your flowers, your dog being the ring bearer… anything and everything! Feel free to share with us any visuals that you may have collected along the way, we love to see what makes your heart flutter.
This is also a good time, to chat about your other stationery needs, some stationery items you may want to keep in mind:
After we get a good idea about what you are looking for and taking into account the type of printing, handwork, and custom illustration and type, we will put together a timeline and a rough estimate based on your quantity and type of invitation your are looking to create.
We recommend starting the custom design process at least 4 to 5 months from your mailing date.
Rush orders can be accommodated at an extra cost.
Things to keep in mind:
Since our designs are custom and in most cases have an element of hand-work,
our pricing is also custom and needs to be handled on a individual basis.
With this said, our custom invitation packages start at $2200 for offset printing, and at
$2700 for letterpress printing (based on an order of 100 invitation sets)
Invitation sets includes the Wedding invitation, and RSVP postcard, and outer envelope.
Most clients choose designs that start at $3000.
Save the dates start at $1000 per 100.
If you choose to use Bird and Banner as your wedding stationer, we would email you our contract along with your estimate and timeline. Once the contract has been reviewed and approved, please sign and return it to Bird and Banner along with a 50 % deposit, payable by Pay pal, personal check or money order..
Also at this time you should also provide a rough draft of the wording you would like to include in the design of your project (i.e. wording of your invitation/announcement, RSVP text, ect.). This is best supplied as an electronic file.
Once we have received your signed contract and deposit, the design process will begin!
Based on your timeline, Bird and Banner will present two to three design options, emailed to you as a color pdf for your review with colors, materials and printing process outlined. You will then have the opportunity to provide feedback and identify any changes you want to make or new ideas you may wish to incorporate. You may send your comments via email or we can discuss them over the phone.
We prefer certain changes to be sent via email as it allows for less revision errors.
The changes are integrated into a revised version that is submitted to you for approval.
We schedule up to three rounds of design changes.
Once you have approved a version, and it’s material it will be processed into a “final digital proof” for sign off.
Before printing and assembly of your invitations begin you will be sent the “final proof” by email. At this time you will review and confirm that every detail is perfect: the layout, typestyle, spelling, grammar and punctuation. We ask that you confirm via email or fax your approval. Once you have approved the digital proof, Bird and Banner is not responsible for any future changes or mistakes.
